The awards

We’re on the lookout for young individuals who have made positive contributions in the local area. They deserve to be shouted about and celebrated!

All under 10's are still little angels and are heroes in their own way… whether it's excelling in school or at an activity, helping with dinner, household chores or their siblings. Maybe it's because they always put a smile on our faces or just ask so many questions that it helps us adults to put things into perspective.

So, we're calling on all parents and teachers to take a moment to tell us your story about your little heroes!

11-15-year olds are just starting to find themselves and this is the period where their futures start to be shaped. Wouldn't it be great if they considered the impact on people or the environment? We hope our award campaign helps do just that.

Every small act matters! So, no matter how big or small their contribution is, make a nomination today to show them how rewarding it can be to do some good.

Look no further than our 16-20-year olds for our future leaders, future ambassadors, and future change-makers. But the challenges of navigating the teenage years with one eye on the future are not easy. Support takes on a whole new meaning during these years because they don't just receive it but also start giving it.

Although we're expecting nominations from mates and colleagues, it shouldn't stop you parents, teachers, lecturers and employers from sharing stories about these amazing individuals.

Positive contributions come in all shapes and sizes. It's anything that makes the life of another person better. Below are some examples, so if at least one of these describes you or someone you know then we want to hear from you.

But remember that it could also include something that’s not listed here.

  1. Physically helping someone – This could include helping someone with their shopping, doing household chores, gardening, babysitting, setting up the classroom for a lesson or anything similar
  2. Emotionally helping someone’s mental health – This could include regularly having a chat with someone, visiting someone who's lonely or being there for a classmate or friend.
  3. Volunteering – this could include doing something that helps ease the burden on parents at home or on teachers at school.  And also visiting or helping at a care home, local charity or anywhere else.
  4. Contributing to a club. That could be for sport, music, academics or anything else.
  5. Regularly making others smile.
  6. Being a role model or moral compass.
  7. Being enterprising, where those activities impact others for the better.
  8. Improving the reputation of your family, school, college, university, workplace or your community.
  9. Anything else that has made someone else's life better.

The format

After the closing date, all entries will be reviewed and separated by age group. Where further information is required we will reach out to applicants to provide said information.

A shortlist, of at least 5 finalists for each age group, will be announced with the winners selected at the presentation ceremony.
